my 1740's royal court gown i made to wear at a ball in october. 12 meter brocade fabric in a dark nougatbrown with golden lace and rhinestones as decoration on the stomascher infront. it is almost the same as my yellow francaise, only longer and with pocketopenings in the skirt. mostly handsewn and it took about a week to finish!

Very impressive! I went to watch the video, now please tell me: how tough is it to walk around when you are as wide as you are tall? It seems a near impossible task.

thank u! haha yeah, oddly enough you forget how big you are and is simply reminded everytime you smack in to something and goes like "oh, thats right..". to have an ordinary 18th century bumpad or pockets makes you very flexible, something you definitely are not in this, so you have to lern a whole new pattern of walking, and if there isn't any room, your stuck, very stuck, the only thing you can do to make yourself smaller is to go sideways basically... i read that if a lady back then could gracefully dance a menuett in a dress like this (this is actually not that big for a courdress, mine is 170 cm long wich is quite a basic courtdress measurement, there are those that were 120 cm per side wide..)but if you could dance in it you were like THE lady who had it all and everyone would respect you for life whatever happened, so it seemes even born highsociety ladies back then had problems!:D
